Karl Voysey
S4H Program Manager

Karl Voysey, 29 years old, grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and now lives in Cape Town . Karl has worked for Soccer 4 Hope / Hoops 4 Hope for almost 3 years, starting as a Program Manager for both the basketball and soccer programs. Around the time of World Cup 2010, the opportunities around youth development through soccer demanded full time attention, thus Karl has now been focussing his efforts on Soccer 4 Hope as Program Director. Karl completed an honors degree in physical education in 2003. He then managed university volunteer projects and various adult education and training courses, as well as three major cycling events. He is passionate about sports and the development of South Africa and its people. By combining the two, he is able to contribute, learn and grow.

Nomawethu “Wewe” Sokoyi
S4H Life Skills Manager

Nomawethu “Wewe” Sokoyi, 22 years old, was born in Cradock in the Western Cape of South Africa. She now resides in Cape Town, Khayelitsha Macassar, where she has lived most of her life with her extended family, her mother, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers. Wewe was introduced to the organization as a Soccer 4 Hope volunteer in 2006 when she wanted to give back to her community, then developed into a community coordinator, and is now a full-time Life Skills Manager for Soccer 4 Hope. As a hobby, she runs a community soccer team in the Khayelitsha, which gives her the most powerful platform to make significant change in her home community. She describes herself as being dedicated, disciplined, and having Ubuntu (empathy). She is passionate about music, poetry, family, and her work.
